Tuberculosis is the name of a chronic disease, which can be fatal if not cured in time. This disease is caused by a bacterium called mycobacterium. This is the bacterium, which can cause damage to any of the cells and tissues of a human body, but most commonly it infects lungs. There are many cases, in which other body organs of the patients also gets affected, which may include central nervous system, circulatory system, lymphatic system and many others as well.

In earlier times, it was referred as consumption, but later on its name was changed. It is a bacterium, which infects the lungs and keeps on growing by getting multiplied and this result in pneumonia. Along with tuberculosis, the patient has to suffer through a lot of pain because of pain in chest and continuous cough along with spots of blood. These are some of the common symptoms of this disease.

Along with these, the lymph nodes that are near the lungs of the patient, they also get enlarged. Basically, the nature of this disease is that it keeps on spreading throughout the body, if not treated in time, but the immune system of the body keeps on intruding the spreading of tuberculosis. And it is done by forming fibrosis by the immune system, around the bacterium, which doesn’t let the bacterium infect other body organs and in this way, this disease is not even transferred to other people. And if the immune system of the patient’s body is not so strong to protect other body parts then this bacterium spreads infection throughout the body.
